Master's in Chemistry (M.Sc.)
Central department of Chemistry offers courses theoretical and experimental classes in three streams: physical, Inorganic, and Organic. We also offer several specialized elective courses such as nuclear chemistry, general biochemistry, natural product chemistry, food chemistry.
The Courses offered for M. Sc. are of two years duration consisting of four semesters, each semester of 6 months. The total mark in theory, laboratory works, seminar, elective papers and dissertation in M. Sc. semester system is based on credit hour. Students may choose an area of specialization in one of the three separate streams: Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry in 3rd and 4th semester while in 1st and 2nd semester all students study general topics.
Admission Requiremnts
Candidates seeking admission to the M. Sc. degree must hold a B. Sc. degree with major in Chemistry from Tribhuvan University (TU) or an equivalent degree from the Universities recognized by the TU. They must be qualified in the entrance test conducted by Institute of Science and Technology TU.
